The Program in Visual Impairments at Florida State University has been preparing graduates to teach people with visual impairments since 1963.
 
Training programs are available at various locations throughout Florida, as well as in Atlanta, GA.

Requirements for Admission (Undergraduate)
 
Individuals interested in earning their B.S. Degree in Visual Disabilities should contact the program coordinator. Careful course advising is required for all students.  
 
Students will also be required to meet the Florida State University Teacher Education requirements stated below:

Special students must also pass and meet the GPA requirements.

All students are expected to have the computer skills to independently access the Internet, use web-based applications, and create and modify documents using Microsoft Word.

Requirements for Admission (Graduate)
 
All applicants must:
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Submit a GPA of 3.0 or a GRE score of at least 1000 (with a minimum of 400 on each part of the GRE).
  • Participate in a telephone or in-person interview.
  • Submit 2 letters of recommendation
  • All students are expected to have the computer skills to independently access the Internet, use web-based applications, and create and modify documents using Microsoft Word.
